Dr. Jesus Martinez Alvarado

Dr. Martinez Alvarado leads the High-throughput Chemistry (HiTEC) Core Lab, where he brings expertise in chemistry, automation, and data science to collaborative synthesis projects. He earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Princeton University, where he studied the activation of strong chemical bonds using photoredox catalysis and the application of data science in synthetic chemistry. He then did postdoctoral research in synthetic organic electrochemistry at Cornell University before joining GlaxoSmithKline as a medicinal chemist, using high-throughput chemistry for drug development. For CHASE, the HiTEC lab is an evolution of the Solar Fuels Product Analysis Laboratory and will serve to enhance the Center’s ability to drive innovative research.
