Jessica received her Ph.D from the University of Michigan in 2011 under the guidance of Prof. Kevin Kubarych. Her graduate work focused on understanding condensed phase reaction dynamics using 2DIR spectroscopy. After completing her PhD she joined the Scholes group at the University of Toronto, moving from the mid-IR spectral region to the visible spectral region. Jessica’s postdoctoral work focused on understanding the initial processes of light harvesting in natural photosynthetic complexes using two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy (2DES). Jessica’s current research focuses on using both 2DIR and 2DES along with other multidimensional spectroscopic techniques, combining the powerful aspects of these two spectral regions, with the goal of understanding and exploring photoinitiated processes and molecular dynamics.
