CHASE PI Alex Miller receives NC-ACS Distinguished Speaker Award

CHASE PI Professor Alex Miller was awarded the 2021 NC-ACS Distinguished Speaker Award! “The NC-ACS Distinguished Lecturer Award is given annually to an individual within the NC-ACS section who has made significant and recognized research contributions to the chemical sciences.” Alex was awarded this honor both for his research contributions to alternative energy and sustainability, but also his commitment to safety culture and researcher health and wellness. Alex helped co-found The Safety Net, a compilation of academic lab safety resources, and helped co-found the UNC Chemistry Department Student and Postdoc Wellness (SWELL) initiative, a compilation of campus resources on mental health and wellness. Congratulations Dr. Miller!
